Minutes of the PCSC meeting of June, 12th, 2025, 11:00 CEST =========================================================== Present: Philippe Bourdin (PB) Axel Brandenburg (AB) Piyali Chatterjee (PC) Nils Haugen (NH, agenda item 5) Matthias Rheinhardt (MR) Jennifer Schober (JS) 0. constituent meeting of new PCSC Clara Dehman communicated the election results on 23rd of May 2025 to all voters. The newly elected PCSC members are: - Axel Brandenburg (15 votes) - Philippe Bourdin (12 votes) - Matthias Rheinhardt (11 votes) - Jennifer Schober (9 votes) - Piyali Chatterjee (8 votes) The PCSC welcomes its new member Jennifer Schober and thanks its leaving member Nils Haugen. The newly elected PCSC constitutes itself formally from this point. 1. approval of the agenda The agenda proposed by Axel was approved after a short discussion of the items. 2. secretary of the meeting Philippe is the secretary and writes the minutes. 3. chair of the PCSC Philippe was the chair of the PCSC since 2023. Philippe offers to chair the PCSC for the next 1.5 years and was elected unanimously. 4. status of the minutes of 12 May Matthias needs to put some additional editorial work to finish the minutes, the draft is now available here: https://norlx65.nordita.org/~brandenb/pencil-code/PCSC/minutes/2025_05_12.txt 5. discussion of the newsletter draft Nils joined for this discussion item and reports on his activities speaking with individuals. Matthias proposed to write a summary for the new PCSC members. Contributions to the newsletter are being collected. Piyali, Matthias, and Philippe will add contributions after Axel edited the current draft. The time frame for further additions should be until 22nd of June but is now prolonged until 24th of August. 6. discussion about the PCUM25 A meeting will be set for discussing the teaching week before the main user meeting and the next PCSC meeting. We will ask to make most of the meeting available in hybrid form. 7. other business Currently some autotests are broken on Travis-CI. Autotests may disagree between different machines or compiler versions. The question remains, which autotest is finally authoritative. This problem basically hinders to introduce strict testing before any commits. 8. End of meeting 13:05 CEST
